Mercy House - Conflict (Download Review)
01.Conflict
Drew (Vocals)
Dany (Guitar)
Dan (Guitar)
Mick (Bass)
Yam (Drums)
London rockers the Mercy House return with a new line up and a refined heavy rock sound that seems to improve everytime they release something new.
After numerous demos and a highly rated debut album (A Broken State Of Bliss) they set out on the road bringing their controlled mayhem to any stage that would have them.
This new track is full of heavy guitar and drums and Drew's voice screams out of the speakers as dangerous and as powerful as ever.
This track is available for free and is released to coincide with their first ever slot at Download Festival this Friday 13th June wher they will be tearing up the Jägermeister Stage from 3:55pm with an ear blistering show not to be missed.
Their second album is due later this year.

Vote MERCY HOUSE for Kerrang/Guitar Hero Game!!

London's finest RAWK merchants The Mercy House have made it through to the shortlist for the Kerrang/Guitar Hero competition.
In a statement the band said "However, we want YOU to understand WHY we need your vote. This is not a popularity contest, we've been there before and do not play that game... normally with online voting we'd just let fate decide, it's a joke, but this is different. This could reach millions of people and help unite those who realise they're not the only ones who want real rock music back. We want to send a message out there to all the big wigs sitting in their offices planning the next 'hit' single. Go peddle your shit somewhere else, that's what X Factor is fo... this can be the start of something different!".
Your vote is important, check them out and if you like please vote for them :)

THE MERCY HOUSE - EP (CD Review)

01.Greed
02.Lead The Way
03.Inversions
Drew (Vocals)
Dany (Guitar)
Dan (Guitar)
W.R (Bass)
Nick (Drums)
So for the last 16 months Mercy House have been working hard, very hard, numerous gigs, 4 demo cd's, support slots to major bands like Hamlet, Vains Of Jenna and Biohazzard.
Their popularity caught the attention of Kerrang, and both Metal Hammer and Classic Rock magazines put one of their songs on a cover mount cd.
The band seemingly grow from strength to strength and have now arrived at their first official cd release and are to emabark on their first big uk tour in September.
The Ep along with other merch is available from : http://themercyhouse.bigcartel.com
The dark, brooding 'Greed' kicks off this EP with pure majestic power, it brings to mind Judas Priest's 'Touch Of Evil' with Zeppelinesque qualities, superb production brings out every instrument to perfection.
Drew's vocal delivery is reminicent of Chris Cornell doing an impression of Johnathan Davis, but has those trademark high notes that still makes Drew "THE" rock vocalist in the UK today.
The multi tracking and layering of the vocals and their various styles just adds to a superb piece of work.
That relentless wall of power continues into 'Lead The Way'starting off with a bass riff that would fit any decent Korn track, the song has an Audioslave vibe.
Part ballad part rock monster it is a song destined for american rock radio and a subsequent begging letter to come and tour.
Im not sure how they have managed to do it but the breathtaking 'Inversions' has now reached a level of brilliance beyond my ability to describe, in fact one of the lyrics,"you wont find the answers, they are too deep inscribed, deep within the maze that is your mind" just helps to illustrate my fail here on words.
The music is tighter, the little vocal effects added here and there, the cleaness of the guitars to such clarity that each note has its own purity, i mean its just fucking perfect!
There are few modern songs that have those elements of "classic" but this song will be around to entertain many future generations.
That this band remain unsigned and yet can produce an EP to such a level as to rival (if not surpass) any signed band with a huge budget is nothing short of criminal, this band have a right to be taken to the world stage and the ability to back it up all the way to the top.

MERCY HOUSE - INVERSIONS EP (Cd Review)

01.Inversions
02.You Know Me
03.Reborn
Drew (Vocals)
Dany (Guitar)
Dan (Guitar)
Antony (Bass)
Nick (Drums)
So it was march 27th of this year that Mercy House made their debut with Drew on vocals
at the rock attic in streatham, their next gig was at the Underworld in Camden
So right from the start it was a step up every time, they lost a band member and
replaced him then started recordings, did more gigs, got a few good support slots as
well, gigged constantley even out of London shows and released a couple of one track promo cd's to be given away at gigs.
So 9 months later Drew hands me a 3 track ep with all remixed songs and a much more
professional package as well, this cd will also be given away at gigs, the question for
me is, is this yet another step up?
Now 'Inversions' still remains my favourite song, in its demo form it was awesome, time
to hit play.........
Its polished, richer, the guitars sound a lot better and Drews voice, well ive always said its THE voice of rock and this just proves it.
The song is a moody rocker and remains a classic.
'You Know Me' has some great acoustic guitar throughout, it keeps the song moving along with an almost Zeppelin feel, but when it kicks in with the screaming vocals oh wow this becomes a monster of melody and power.
The final song 'Reborn' has a power metal feel, with a huge chorus that is guarenteed to get everybody singing along, great use of acoustic guitar again, all goes to underline their sound to perfection.
There is a lyric in 'You Know Me' that goes "I will not compromise" and that sums the band up, it is a great sound, superbly put together with a a lot of thought and a single vision to create the most exciting and original rock you will hear.
Without any shadow of a doubt Mercy House create stunning rock music and with a quality that will last for years to come, a step up i asked at the beginning, well no a huge leap up!!

MERCY HOUSE, '77, XENOCHORD Live At The Gaff 17.09.09 (Gig Review)
THE MERCY HOUSE

The Gaff, Holloway Road 17.09.09

There is now something very infectious about the Hungarian absinthe drinking rockers, they are utterley entertaining and totally commited to producing the finest prog tinged death metal you will hear in london.
Each time they seem to improve, now with the new drummer they seem more solid, faster and very confident.
The songs have now become like great friends they bring a smile to your face and are always welcome.

Spain's answer to old school Ac/Dc make their second visit to the Gaff even more exciting than their first.
It is pure rock n roll fun, delivered with total conviction and despite the very obvious Ac/Dc sound and influence they make their own statement with a degree of originality that shines through.
THE MERCY HOUSE
The rock just dont stop!
That the Mercy House are an awesome sight to behold goes without saying, the songs are brilliant and the musicianship of all band members is top notch.
I have said it before and i will keep saying it... Their vocalist Drew has "THE" voice of classic rock, but his ability to perform is just as electric and he has no trouble with jumping into the audience to "give it some", i just wish he'd look a bit happier on stage, i think he takes it too seriously.
There is nothing to worry about, any band who can perform and entertain this well should be grinning from ear to ear.

THE MERCY HOUSE - LIKE A RAT (Cd Review)

01.Like A Rat
Drew (Vocals)
Dany (Guitar)
Kiran (Guitar)
Nick (Drums)
Anthony (Bass) NOTE : Not On This Track
So Mercy House let loose another one track cd, question is can it live up to its fantastic predecessor "Inversions"???
Well its another great song, got a led zeppelin vibe to it, some really nice guitarwork throughout from acoustic to electric, its a good solid album track. As always its a perfect vocal delivery from Drew, his range and power simply blows away any peer you care to mention.
However this track has one draw back and that is the mix of the song does not sound right, its like the backing vocals bleed over the lead vocal too much and it sounds "odd", now that may be the reaction they are after, after all there is nothing wrong with throwing the listener off sometimes, so im sure they hate me now for saying that !
I think the song Break The chains (Listen to it on their myspace) would have been a better choice to release as a single, for that song is brilliant.
Hey now dont get me wrong, its a mix thing not a song thing.

THE MERCY HOUSE - INVERSIONS (CD Review)

01. Inversions
Jon (Bass)
Nick (Drums)
Drew (Vocals)
Kiran (Lead Guitar)
Danny (Rhythm Guitar)
You know sometimes it does not matter what came before, who was in this or that band or how long it all took.
What you do need to know is that The Mercy House are here...Now.
Okay so no back info no deatiled history and just a one track promo cd, not much to go on is it ?
Let me tell you about this track, it reflects the various influences each member brings to the group, it blends melody and agression wrapped up in some really cool black leather from the mid 90’s.
It is both classic rock and modern metal with a rich sound that you simply cannot ignore.
This is just a taster of what is to come later this year, by which time everyone will know who The Mercy House are.

Celebrating one year since their debut performance and their song appearing on the cover mount cd with Metal Hammer magazine, the band hailed as Nightwish meets Opeth take to the stage and spent the next 30 minutes entertaining the small audience.
So there is little to say, the band are good, nice and heavy with very very strong drumming and the vocalist is somewhere between Doro and Tarja.Thing is that the performance lacked feeling, its like they just stood on the stage with no movement, unless you count the slow motion Angela Gossow impressions from the vocalist.
THE MERCY HOUSE
Saw them in a pub last week they were really good, tonight they were on a big stage and they were really fucking awesome.
About half way through the set i noticed that the whole audience area was packed and that everyone was headbanging, dancing and cheering.Their take on classic rock mixed with power metal is an absolute delight, vocalist Drew has an amazing voice that is moving into Michael Kiske (Helloween) territory with a David Coverdale edge.
NEMHAIN
Okay..So Lakis goes to plug his guitar in and there is no sound, thats because the jack into the cab has been broken and fallen inside and guess what?? yep thats right there is no replacement. So i grab a screwdriver and fix the amp within 10 minutes despite being told by someone in charge that it could not be done !
So that solved band return to stage and off they go, the sound is really bad i mean was anyone actually working at the mixing desk???
Still the audience are loving the music anyway (Thank fuck for booze) and have'nt really noticed. Then half way through "Clear My Eyes" the bass goes so i rush around the back find a replacement bass from The Mercy House and get that changed, then the stage geezer says to me only one more song then off, Adrian shouts how long and they manage to pull out 2 more songs with "Second Skin" and "Speed Queen".
So a nightmare gig for sure, but heads held high as it was'nt the bands fault it was shit equipment!
THE GREEN RIVER PROJECT
Mick Priestley's band official debut gig.
They had played one previous gig as part of the Unholy club night with King Lizard as a warm up, which i am told was good but dogged by sound problems.
Hmmm "Sound Problems" so welcome to the underworld home of really crap sound and it does effect their performance. One of the countries most talented guitarists a fantastic drummer and the amazing Andy law on vocals, it should have been outstanding but it was'nt, sure the fans enjoyed what they could hear from the short set but all in all the venue let them and the fans down.
THE GIG ITSELF
This was simply in the wrong place and corners were obviously cut with equipment. But tonight it was The Mercy House who were lucky enough to avoid most problems.
