Lemmy (Bass/Vocals)
Phil "Wizzö" Campbell (Guitar)
Mikkey Dee (Drums)

Well it could have been an all cover version album that was talked about last year and with the health scare with Lemmy it was possible that we wouldnt get an album at all this year, but they have returned with studio album number 22 (even though the press release says 21 they forget that 'On Parole' was an official album as well!!!).

It's a Motorhead album so you know what you are gonna get - fast, rockin rocks coming in at under 4 minutes, solid bass, brain crunching drumming, off the hip and in yer face guitar playing and THE voice of Lemmy!

So 'Heartbreaker' and 'Coup De Grace' start us off in time honoured style then we get 'Lost Woman Blues' a heavy blues song that really stands out, nothing short of awesome!

'End Of Time' returns us to what we expect then comes 'Death Machine' a song that could have been off the 'Bomber' album, its dark and menacing like an updated version of 'Sweet Revenge'.

A blues riff that sounds a little like Steppenwolf's 'The Pusher' leads us into a very laid back 60's sounding ballad called 'Dust And Glass' another great and standout track.

Haha the fast paced 'Going To Mexico' kinda sounds like 'Going To Brazil'.

Heavy and punchy 'Silence When You Speak To Me' (Didnt Spike Milligan write that in one of his books?) comes in as the albums longest track and works well.

I swear i can detect some piano in the mix on 'Crying Shame' but nothing in the bio sheet about it? Kick ass song though!

The next 3 songs are mid paced rockers leaving us with the final track 'Paralyze' which is one of the fastest on the album.

Actually one of the better albums from the last few years, the band sound younger and fresher that they have for a while now, weird is'nt it?

Huntress - I Want To Fuck You To Death

HUNTRESS are back with the follow up to their buzzworthy debut album Spell Eater, which was released in 2012.  The album entitled Starbound Beast will be released on July 1st via Napalm Records.  The band recorded the album at Hobby Shop Studios in Los Angeles, CA, working with famed producer Zeuss (Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, Agnostic Front).  The artwork for Starbound Beast was created once again by Vance Kelly (Slayer, Ghost B.C., Mastodon).

HUNTRESS has unveiled the first song from Starbound Beast.  The track entitled “I Want to Fuck You to Death” was co-written for singer Jill Janus by legendary Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. Frontwoman Jill Janus spoke about the collaboration: "I met Lemmy through my former band Chelsea Girls. We'd play hard rock and metal covers featuring guest celebrities. Lemmy was already friends with the girls, so he played "Ace of Spades" with us and it blew my mind. We stayed in touch and would meet up at The Rainbow for drinks. So I asked him a few months back over Jack & Cokes if he'd write lyrics for a Huntress song and he said 'Sure'. A few weeks later, I met him at the studio during Motorhead recording sessions. Lemmy handed me two two pieces of notebook paper with the lyrics for 'I Want to Fuck You to Death'. I am beyond honored. To me, this is a love song. It is the most romantic song I've ever heard."

Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister also spoke of the collaboration: “The first time I heard Jill’s voice with Chelsea Girls, it was phenomenal. I wrote these lyrics from her point of view, the Huntress. ‘I Want to Fuck You to Death’ was inspired by her, written for her. I’ve always had a soft spot for her. And a hard spot too…

Motorhead - The World Is Yours (Cd Review)

1.Born To Lose
2.I Know How To Die
3.Get Back In Line
4.Devils In My Head
5.Rock ‘n’ Roll Music
6.Waiting For The Snake
7.Brotherhood Of Man

10.Bye Bye Bitch Bye Bye

Lemmy (Bass/Vocals)
Phil Campbell (Guitars)
Mikkey Dee (Drums)

How else can you start Motorhead album number 38 than with a song called 'Born To Lose'????
Lemmy sings "Go ahead put the blame on me, another reason to disagree, deaf to all the truth for sure, hear the hammer knocking at your door. But you know it’s all fairy tales".

Its pure Motorhead all the way, the bass, the drums, the guitar it never changes its always true, honest and straight forward rock n roll.

Other things never change either, a line from 'Get Back In Line' goes "If you think that Jesus saves, get back in line".
The rock n roll feel to 'Rock N Roll Music' reminds us that Lemmy has always held a large JD & Coke to said genre and reminds us all that "Rock n Roll music is the true religion. Never let you down you can dance to the rhythm".

There is a slight 'Audioslave' vibe to 'Waiting For The Snake' in the opening riff but dont let put you off!

The dark and quite outstanding song 'Brotherhood Of Man' plays like 'Orgasmatron' part two.
Lemmy growls "You cannot hide the truth from me I know what’s in your heart, Greed and jealousy each equal, all your days now dark. Mighty mountains fall in dust the world falls into hell, Faith in lying prophets, no one to lift the spell".
And if you need more that lays it on the line for humanity then, "We kill for money, wealth and lust, for this we should be damned. We are disease upon the world, brotherhood of man", sums it up.
Song ends with an awesome solo from Phil.

'Bye Bye Bitch Bye Bye' chalks up the end of yet another perfect (day) album!
I leave the final word to Lemmy :
"You don’t know a goddamm thing about the real world, Here’s a short sharp lesson, and I mean every word. You tell me that you love me but I’m just some other fool, So bite the bullet, eat your words, I’ll teach you the rules".

Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow/Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell)
Fast Eddie Clarke (Motorhead/Fastway)
Lemmy & Phil Campbell (Motorhead)
Neil Murray (Whitesnake/Black Sabbath/Fastway)

What better way is there to celebrate 30 years in the buisness and honour the passing of former guitarist kelly Johnson than to produce your best album in nearly 20 years !Sure girlschool have always produced a high standard of recordings (A couple of blips along the way with Glitter and Toyah not withstanding) from the classic 'Demolition' album in 1980 to 'Believe' in 2004,but this album is just outstanding.
Sounding as fresh as they did when they released 'Take It All Away' in december 1978 this album exudes energy and confidence and the "Special Guests" add to the music as opposed to "Steal" it, if you get what i mean? although Iommi & Dio do their own version of I Spy.

First couple of tracks are in typical style, but 'I Spy' is the first stand out track its slow, pounding and moody with great vocals and catchy lyrics. The same song is reprised as track 13 with Dio on vocals and Iommi on guitar and i have to wonder why.
'Spend Spend Spend' is a well timed track with out current financial climate and also features guitar work from J.J French.
'Whole New World' almost raps its lyrics and features Neil Murray (Once known as king of the liggers) and Phil from Motorhead.

'Metropolis' is a great cover of Motorhead's song originally on the 'Overkill' album back in 1978, Eddie Clarke plays his guitar brilliantly for the girls.
'Zeitgeist' is another stand out "gets yer headbanging" track as is 'Dont Talk To Me' with Lemmy on vocals and bass and according to the press release a triangle !

Yep you gotta throw in a classic and they do with another version of 'Emergency' and you know what what i still love that song, though my fave of all time is still 'Dont Call It Love'.
We end with 'London' it has an old punk feel and a shout it out chorus of "London whoa oh u got everything", this also acts as a reminder that Girlschool are still in touch with their roots (Skin Flicks in 1977 anyone??) and that of course London rocks!

Go buy this album even if you are under 40 years of age,it rocks!
