Casino13 was formed in February 2011 by founding members Drummer -Thomas Agar (ex-Feral) & Vocalist/Guitarist Dave McEvoy (ex-Social Head Removal) & later joined by second guitarist Pardeep Bhachu & bass player Drake Kelly (ex-Social Head Removal)

The bands members had all served their time in various metal bands previously & the idea with Casino13 was to blend elements of Punk Rock, Country, Rock N Roll & Metal & other styles into the mix to create an original sound.

Kicking off with some heavy rock n roll 'Good Friends & Alcohol' has a superb beat that gets you jumping up and down straight away, great vocal delivery and some awesome drumming drive this one home!

'Dragging It All To The Grave' and 'Breakdown' are a bit more restrained but still good.

That bouncy feel returns for the bass heavy rocker 'Boneshaker' some cool guitarwork in this one as well, nice to actually hear some riffing with soul.

Next up is 'Nowhere' a dark and heavy monster again featuring some great guitarwork.

"To live a lie, see through your eyes & now you're gone, a blessing in disguise" a bittersweet doom laden classic, punctuated by some heavy as hell drumming, beautiful vocals, easily my favourite song on this album.

Back to the 1950's for 'without out', coming over like Iggy pop doing Frankie Avalon, it is "grande fromage" but fucking great at the same time!!!

'The Mojo Hand' is a sing a long mid tempo rocker.

Finally ending the album the same way it started 'Whiskey & Gasoline' brings that jumping up and down, bang yer head, drink a bottle of jack and have a fucking great time vibe!

Achilla, Feral, Juggern0rt, N.A.M.B Live @ Hollywood + Vine 15.10.10 (Gig Review)

Local boys from Hull, 'Not Another Metal Band' open tonights gig with a short but furious set of catchy post hardcore/screamo, nothing to fault musically (if thats your favoured style of music of course).
The band need to tighten up with their stage presence and the backing vocals need to be delivered with a bit more confidence.

JUGGERN0RT
The first of tonights London based bands, the mighty Juggern0rt bring their devistatingly heavy music with not so much a sledgehammer effect, more of being hit by a solid steel wall at mach 10!
Unlike most bands who play this style of music, the technical ability of the musicians is second to none and vocalist James can hold his growls longer than anyone!
A very professional set, delivered with style and humor, highly entertaining and such was the response to them that they had to perform an encore.
If you are in london next month you can catch them along with Feral at the Arch Enemy after party.

FERAL

Performing tonight as a three piece with guitarist Laurence playing bass after just one rehersal, you would think they had been gigging like this for years.

An absolute blinder of a set, the melody and progression on their take of melodic thrash metal sets them almost in a class of their own.

All three of them clearly put their heart and soul into the music which has been wowing audiences in london for 2 years and now has won them fans in the north.

ACHILLA

The final night of their mini tour to promote their debut single 'Arashi'.

With their usual drummer away his place was taken by Neon Fly's Boris Le Gal and his performance alone was astounding and helped give the band a very heavy edge which allowed guitarist Dan to crank it up to 11 (no he really did the amp actually had 12 on it!) and bassist Costas to pound out the bottom heavy chords.

Vocalist Martamaria stalked the stage with her unique vocals and peformance.

Clearly moving away from the early symphonic/prog influence and maturing into a full on hard rock outfit, songs such as 'Arashi' , 'Devils Eyes' and 'Wild Flower' coming across like never before and getting a very positive reaction from the crowd.

So with new albums from Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir and some great upcoming gigs, there is plenty to keep you going this month.
But to jump ahead to December 17th we see a brand new club opening up in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, it promises to bring Live bands and Dj's playing Goth/Alt/Industrial/Blackend Metal, and its free entry.

Hells teeth!
Stunninng death metal with a progresssive edge, a perfect match of agression and
melody, truley awesome power is displayed on songs like 'Sunday Morning' and 'Absinthe'
and one of the coolest bass lines ever on 'delirium'.

FERAL
Playing one of their most relaxed and fun sets i have seen sometime, the melodic
thrashers and really coming into their own now, great songs flow with catchy riffs and
outstanding vocals.

VIRUS
Exactley one year ago the reborn Thrash legends Virus took to the stage at the rock
attic in streatham a little nervous and a handfull of old songs.So for their first anniversary they once more take the stage, this time full of confidence and armed with some new songs.

In many ways this is a different band, now the musicianship has found its level of
professionlism, they looked comfortable on the stage and put on their best performance
to date.
Whilst the old songs like 'Testify To Me' and 'Lunacy' remain crowd favourites and
classics of the genre it is the new songs such as 'Skulls Of My Enemies' which have
their attention now and the ones which define the band as a major force on the current
scene.

CAVALAR
When vocalist Luca takes to the stage he always manages to turn the room into a
stadium, its maybe a little difficult to explain but he is just such a fantastic
frontman (without a doubt the best frontman in rock full stop!) he gives this larger
than life performance.
Backed by the powerhouse drumming of Arn, fantastic bass playing from Max and jaw dropping guitaring from Dan, cavalar remain the best in their field.

I would like to add a personal note here and thank every member of each band for
playing this gig as part of my sons birthday celebrations, thank you guys it meant a
lot to me!!
