GHOST TRAIN
Fucking hell these guys are good, basically a british WASP without the shock element.A stunning live performance for a debut gig, great songs, really good stage presence and a vocalist who knows how to work an audience.They ended their set with a superb cover of WASP's 'Wild Child'.

ZERO EXPERIENCE
A post grunge trio whose Alice In Chains vibe is quite infectious, well structured songs and a strong vocal make for an entertaining set.

GENERATION GRAVEYARD
Always explosive, never dull, the london mob never fail to impress and tonight was no
exception, in fact tonight was their best show to date.Wheather blasting out 'Murder Rock & Roll', a cover of GG Allin's 'Bite It You Scum' or throwing in a brand new song, every song is delivered will full conviction and recieved with equal energy from the audience.

FIVE SECOND RULE
It was almost exactley one year ago that these guys first took to the stage and it has
been a pleasure to watch them mature (if thats the right word for this gang??) into a very serious outfit, now i say serious in terms of professionalism because the most important factor with their show is "fun" and "entertainment", both delivered to perfection.
As always a friend gets a lap dance and the finale has dancers and fire!!!!

MALLORY KNOX
To end one of the most exciting gig's in a long time comes the slightly scarey Kit and
her band of warriors!It's just pure punked up energy, backed with solid drums and bass and some neat solo's and agressive backing vocals.You cant get bored when these lot are on stage and for the third time in a row the audience went crazy.
Show-stopper tonight was a highly amplified version of 'Helter Skelter'.

Halloween night, 4 bands, loads of people, great atmosphere, good dj and a PA System made out of a 1930's valve radio????

Every band were victim to the mic's cutting out, but they all put up with it and did an excellent job.

Also a few simple changes to the stage area would allow the bands room to move and be a bit more comfortable.



FUCKSHOVEL

Best way to describe this band is; if the Sex Pistols were a heavy metal band and Motorhead were a punk band then they would sound like this.

It was a great set, powered by a very fast and agressive drummer and a vocalist who had classic Johnny Rotten poses and a voice to match.

One of the best punk/metal bands i have heard since the good old days of Warfare.



SHAKE

Finally get to see this mob, and tonight was a real treat the band seemed to explode the second guitarist lee hit the first chord and jumped up onto the dj area and the vocalist launched himself into the audience, leaving the rest of the band to jump around the stage.

Shake have great glam influenced goth/rock/punk sound it fired the crowd up instantly, they also threw in a cover of FYC's 'She Drives Me Crazy' which was awesome and they got called back for an encore.



FERAL
London melodic thrashers have seemingly gone from strength to strength this year, the new songs show great progress in terms of structure and musicianship.
They may have been a little out of place on tonights bill, but they kept the audience in front of them and entertained with a solid performance that included a version of 'Truth Is Lies' with added lady gaga lyrics and getting a sing a long with the last song 'Roadhouse Blues'.

"are you lot fucking ready?", yep its another Mallory Knox gig!!!
Its sweaty, messy, loud, fast, has swearing, great songs, Kit on vocals and guitar, Ben on guitar and backing vocals, Akis pounding the bass and Kelvis smashing seven shades out of the drums.

When they are on stage, everybody drinks, jumps around and sings along to 'Drink, Fight, Fuck' with fists in the air, tonights set included a great cover of 'Helter Skelter' as well.

Okay i missed Imma completly, when feral were on i was talking buisness and only came back in time to catch the last song truth is lies and heard singer martin singing lady gaga over the riff! (or was i drunk??) and as for richard christ, well come on please give me some credit!

MALLORY KNOX

Came in half way through their set and i must say they looked at home on such a big stage, another good performance carried with style from frontwoman Kit and her solid band.

Really just need that ep to come out so more people get to hear their stuff!

NEMHAIN

First time they played the scala Adrian was in Mexico with Brujeria, so at last he gets to play and behind the special nemhain branded kit as well!

Despite being (rock n roll) plagued by sound problems they absolutly hammered there way through a fast, furious and chaotic set, sam and lakis were pacing and at times running from side to side, i have never seen lisa move so much and on more than one occasion seemed to almost want to jump into the crowd.

Amber attacked the vocals like never before whilst adrian tried his best to break the drums by hitting them so hard!


We were treated to another new song tonight, as well as the classics like 'Heroin Child' and 'Speed Queen'.

Ultimatley its the cover of 'Die Die My Darling' thats still sends the audience wild, but then they have made it their own!

GENERATION GRAVEYARD

Kicked off with 'Murder Rock N Roll' and then it was a masterclass in organised chaos, they really do explode on stage with every member contributing energy even at half past two in the morning.

That vocalist Max had a throat infection did not show at all and he screamed and sang his dark soul out to the gathered masses.

Generation Graveyard are a fun band who put everything into their performance, it makes them exciting to watch and with great musicians a pleasure to listen too.

Ahh the perfect gig starts in amazing style with the Brighton band formed from the ashes of Bella Nova.Its an absolultey stunning set with some very strong rock songs rubbing shoulders with a couple of great slow and moody songs.

FIVE SECOND RULE
Walking through the venue was a bunch of crazy men dressed as arabs making weird noises and shouting "ducca ducca" a lot, turns out it was the band with a
certain adrian erlandsson on drums!
They played their first song then the vocalist pointed out that Adrian didnt even know the song, in fact adrian had spent just 3 hours with the band a few
days before...stunning.
As ever FSR prove that they are the most entertaining band around at the moment, its just good time rock n roll delivered perfectly.

MALLORY KNOX
I find it hard to say anything different about MK because they have never let me down, every time i see them they are really good, four great musicians
seemingly hell bent on rocking everybody into a sweat.Kit's vocals are as always bang on, i suppose the best thing to say about this show is that they kept their trousers on this time!

NEMHAIN
3rd anniversary gig was always going to be explosive and it did not fail to impress.Sure i am biased here, but some friends of mine who had never seen them before all said the same thing "they're good arent they".It may still be Sam, Lisa, Amber and Adrian but it is a very different band to the one i first saw at the bar monsta 3 years back.Not only has the addition of lakis on guitar built them into a solid unit, but the whole vibe of the band has become very professional and the level of confidence has grown.

Tonights set kiced off with 'Ana' a song which used to start with a slow intro now gets the ramones like 1234 treatment, the set hammers on as the audience laps it all up.
Then we are treated to a brand new song 'Natural', this is the first song that the band wrote equally together and its an absolute rocker!Up next is 'Die Die My darling', still the best version ever and a mosh pit broke out, even amber jumped of the stage and joined in.

Four songs later, we get our next treat a song that i have been suggesting they do for a couple of years now, Leadbelly's 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night', the song was dedicated to me and i tell you i was shaking, it was a slow moody version, but i could barley concentrate, i really was moved by it in a way i cant express.

Finally the place erupted with 'Speed Queen' and a toilet roll fight broke out!

The debut album 'From The Ashes' is out on October 16th go buy 2 copies each.
